NECA is a non-partisan organization and expects its members to practice fairness and honesty in their words and deeds and encourage others to act in such an ethical manner without discrimination.

Eligibility

Any Jewish or non-Jewish part-time or full time faculty member affiliated with a Canadian institution of higher learning who supports NECA’s mission. Note: graduate students are able to join as student members.

Responsibilities

NECA is a non-partisan organization and expects its members to practice fairness and honesty in their words and deeds and encourage others to act in such an ethical manner without discrimination. NECA members must respect the dignity of others and refrain from the use of profane, insulting, or otherwise offensive language that constitutes harassment or abuse of others. Violation of these basic principles of will lead to termination of membership.

All members must be affiliated with a Canadian University or College.

All members are expected to endorse the mission of the Network of Engaged Canadian Academics. Notwithstanding our mission, NECA recognizes and encourages a plurality of viewpoints on issues related to Jewish identity and Israel.

NECA members are invited to attend meetings that occur on an ad hoc basis. Members may be asked to contribute their time in a volunteer fashion. On occasion, NECA members with an expertise in a topic may be asked to contribute or co-author resource materials. To the extent possible, NECA will provide an honorarium to members who make such contributions.

NECA members will benefit from access to the resources developed by the organization, connection with members within and outside of their institutions of higher learning, as well as webinars, meetings and other events.
